UPS MRO HANGAR
REIDsteel constructed this 5700m2 maintenance hangar at Shannon for Aer Rianta to keep the world renowned UPS Courier Services airborne and carrying cargo to all parts of the globe.
Built as a maintenance facility for servicing the UPS fleet, this hangar was designed by REIDsteel to accommodate aircraft up to B747- 400 size. The customer specified the use of a lifting fabric type Megadoor, 76 metres wide by 20 metres high.
In addition to the hangar we designed and built the two storey office structure providing in excess of 2000m² of administration and workshop space. The curtain walling, windows and glazed doors were also made by us as were the access cat ladders and maintenance safety rails.
