Hangar for Newcastle Aviation Academy

REIDsteel designed, fabricated and erected this hangar, to house a Boeing 737, and has an accommodation area as well as classrooms, workshops and a canteen.

The hangar is 27m x 35m, with a clear height of 7.7m, and has monoslope truss frames with columns. REIDsteel manufactured and installed the door, which has 2 door slabs driven by hand gears on 2 tracks, giving an entrance 33m wide by 7.7m high.

The three floor accommodation is separated from the hangar. REIDsteel provided all windows and doors for the building, including glazed double entrance doors to the reception area and fire escapes.
